Thanksgiving has always been a great holiday for me. I love the idea of focusing my attention on being grateful for all that God has given to me.
Simply being born in a great nation is a blessing we usually take for granted. Clean water, heating and air conditioning, a roof over our heads and the means of making a good living (If you make $34,000 per year, you are in the top 90% of income makers worldwide).
Me and wife celebrated 15 years of marriage recently and as the years fly by, we often take our committed relationship as a normality, but lasting 15 years in our culture is rare and a huge blessing in itself.

And if I didn’t start talking about money now, you would think you were at the wrong blog page…….

While I have always been able to make an average income I really had nothing to show for it. However, the financial journey my wife and I have been on the last couple of years has really made me thankful for the financial picture we are now seeing coming to pass.
Having an emergency fund in place, being free from the shackles of debt and being properly insured in case tragedy strikes is a very peaceful place to be.
I never want to take theses things for granted, because it took a lot of hard work and discipline to get here.
That being said, now is not the time to kick back and live it up. I firmly believe that God has called us to be good managers of the money he has placed in our hands.
Luke 16:10 says “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much”.
I want to be faithful with what I have, so He will find me capable of handling the bigger plans that he has.

So, this Thanksgiving, lets be thankful AND good managers with what we have, so we will be given more to manage and bless others with this time next year.
