The Problems Billionaires Have Dollarsandsensemoneytips

I recently watched a 60 Minutes special on Bill Gates that really blew me away. I have always been familiar with Mr. Gates, but never really took the time to read about him or know his story.
No offense to all of the Apple users out there, but Bill Gate’s Windows operating system, revolutionized the way personal computers are used. Before Windows, you had to memorize a bunch of code to do anything on your computer. Windows made the point and click come to life. As a money guy, let me just say a personal thank you for the greatness that is Microsoft Excel.
In high school, Bill scored an impressive 1590 out of a possible 1600 on the SAT Test. He went on to study at Harvard, but as computers advanced, he saw the opportunity to create software and dropped out of college. Yes, Bill Gates does not have a college degree. In 1985, Windows 1.0 was released and just two years later at the age of 31, he became the youngest self-made billionaire!
While all of this is very impressive, I find what he does now, the most impressive. His last full day at Microsoft came in 2008 and he resigned as Chairman this year. Now the wealthiest man in the world, he dedicates his life to giving away his $67 billion fortune! (as of 2007, which is before he retired to give his money away, he and his wife had already given $28 billion to charity) His biggest drive is to rid the world of tuberculosis, malaria and polio and is inventing new technology as we speak to make it a reality.
You may never have $67,000,000,000 (It looks a lot more impressive written out doesn’t it?), but take a minute to think past your own financial crisis or worries and imagine what you would/could do if you had more money than you could ever need.
Bill Gates didn’t wait for a winning lottery ticket or a check from the government. He was passionate and made his dreams a reality. What are you waiting for?

Here is the 60 Minutes video if you want to see what he is up to:
